Bento Lunches

Last year I decided that I was so over using snack and sandwich bags.  They aren't cheap and some of the food I was packing for Isabella was getting all smashed and broken by the time she was ready to eat it. So I started packing her meals bento style. I'm not one of those crazy bento lunch moms who uses a lot of cute bento accessories and cuts the food into cute shapes.  I just pack it all in plastic boxes and use silicone cupcake liners to separate her food.  Anyway, I really liked how easy it was and we weren't throwing away tons of plastic baggies.  Here is her lunch for tomorrow.  She is not a sandwich eater so making lunches almost every single day for her can become a challenge.  Tomorrow she is having cucumbers with dip, salami and jack cheese roll ups, a cereal bar, crackers, and Capri Sun flavored water (she prefers those to actual juice boxes or pouches).  There are lots of moms who do bento lunches so if you want to give it a go just search the web and you will find tons of ideas on how to get started.

  1. This is a really, really cute idea. My girls will be staying as far away from school lunches as possible and will have packed lunches. I love the bento idea. However, I don't need to really worry about it for a couple more years.
