Muffin Tin Monday

Today I was happy to be back on a regular schedule.  Last week was total madness with recital rehearsals and Mr. G out of town but we survived. Recital was amazing and I'm sad it's all over.  I am looking forward to having a little break before we start back up in February though.  So now that things are slowing down for a little bit I was so excited to finish putting out some Christmas decorations.  In the process of digging through boxes I found this cute silicone gingerbread baking pan that I thought would be perfect for today's Muffin Tin Monday. I need to keep my eyes peeled for some other cute Christmas themed muffin tins when I finish my Christmas shopping.  Here is what was on the menu today: pizza, chips, yogurt, and juice.

Muffin Tin Monday

Happy Halloween!! It's Muffin Tin Monday and I tried to get into the spirit of Halloween and make Ian's muffin tin meal fun.  On the menu: carrots, cheez-its, a Halloween candy, ranch for dipping, sausages (that's what he wanted), and apples cut into pumpkin shapes.  I used my even popular pumpkin and spider cupcake cups.  What did you have in your muffin tin today?

Bike a thon

Today was Isabella's school had their annual Bike a thon.  It's a fundraiser where the kids ride their bikes to a local park and then do as many laps around the park as they can in the allotted time.  They ask for sponsors to either make a flat donation or a per lap donation.  Isabella had a goal of 50 laps and she came really close to making it.  She was short 7 laps but she earned herself 3 free dress days.  In case you hadn't noticed she wears uniforms to school.  I love the uniforms and she does not. So free dress days are like major holidays around here.  Mr.G and I both signed up to help in different areas today.  We took Ian too and he spent his time going back and forth between the both of us.  He was a busy boy and had a lot of fun too. Danny was in charge of riding over to the park with the kids and some other parents and staff members. He was also in charge of picking up the pizza for lunch. I sat at a corner and watched the kids race by making sure that they stayed within the designated route and to offer help if it was needed.  I am happy to report that there were no major injuries or problems.  After I was done with my duties I spent the rest of my time watching Ian play on the playground and cheering Isabella on every time I saw her. The bike a thon was a success and now I am ready to put my feet up and enjoy my weekend.

Here come the bike riders.

Ian brought his scooter to do a few laps too.

Isabella and Miranda making their way around the park.  This would be one of many laps.

Here are Isabella's other friend Sky and Madelyn making there way around the park too.  All I can say is all four of these girls have super cute bikes. I am so jealous!

Muffin Tin Monday

Muffin Tin Monday is here again.  I'm trying to do some fun Halloween themed lunches this month.  I'm also using some cute pumpkin cupcake cups in my tin this month to add to the Halloween fun.  Today Ian had: crackers, ghost marshmallows, juice, raisins, pumpkin shaped pb & j, and apples slices.  What was in your muffin tin today?

Muffin Tin Monday-Halloween Style

It's Monday again.  Funny how Monday always seems to sneak up on you after a busy weekend.  Anyway, it's Monday so that means its Muffin Tin Monday. We took a break from it last week. But we are back today and I decided to get into the spirit of Halloween with Ian's meal.  I used my new pumpkin cupcake cups and added some fun Halloween treats to the mix.  Notice the green mac n cheese.  It was super easy to do and he loved it.  I used Kraft Easy Mac in the ready to microwave bowls and added green food coloring to the water before I put it in the microwave to cook.  You easily do this with stove top mac n cheese too.  Here is what else was on the menu: bananas, candy corn and candy pumpkins, juice, pepperoni, green mac n cheese, and cheez its.  I need to get more creative with Muffin Tin meals this month.  Lots of possibilities for fun Halloween themed food.  Please leave links for ideas in the comments.  Would love suggestions and ideas.  Have a great Monday!

Muffin Tin Monday supplies

I had to run some errands this week so I made a quick trip to one of my favorite stores. I wasn't looking for anything special so I was happy to find these silicone cupcake sets. My first thought was to use them for Muffin Tin Mondays next month. I can't wait to use them and I think Ian will love them. I might even use them for actual cupcake baking. I'll keep you posted.

An Invasion

These guys have invaded my living room all week. Ian has so many Thomas the Tank Engines abd accessories that they don't all fit on his train table so we had to set up tracks on his bedroom floor. Looks like even that wasn't enough to contain all the trains to his room. The only nice thing about these fellows being in the living is Isabella has been a trooper and gets on the floor and plays with him. He will miss her when school starts on Monday. Guess I will have to fill in and play trains with my little guy.

Muffin Tin Monday

It’s definitely summertime around here. There is a lot of sleeping in, staying up late, wearing our pj’s until after lunch and swimming for hours on end.   Today the kids jumped in their little pool and soaked up the sun for about an hour before lunchtime.  When they came in they were ready to eat.  They had definitely worked up an appetite.  I tried to change things up today and they were very happy with what was on the menu. Here’s what they had: chicken taquitos, chicken empanadas, grapes, pb & j pinwheels, salsa and ranch for dipping.  They washed it all down with lime Tang. I love summertime!
