Cookies

I love it when I can take time out from doing all of the not so fun stuff (laundry and vacuuming) and do fun stuff like baking cookies.  Now don't judge me because this is pre-made cookie dough.  It's cookie dough that Isabella earned through her dance studio fundraiser. It still makes bomb.com cookies.

Anniversary Date Night

Last night Mr.G and I had a date night to celebrate our anniversary.  I had a hair appointment in the morning and my hair dresser was kind enough to make me look extra fancy for the evening.  I made a quick stop at Target to see if I could find anything cute to wear and I was lucky enough to find a super cute black and white stripe skirt.  Danny had his cousin Julie come over and watch Ian (Isabella was at my parents as usual).  We left early hoping to watch a movie but there wasn't anything playing that we were just dying to see.  So we headed to the mall instead.  We did a little shopping, had some pre-dinner drinks, indulged in a big sushi feast, and then ended the night at home catching up on missed episodes of Mad Men.  It was nice to have some time alone together and enjoy each others company.  We don't get to go our alone much anymore.  Not because we don't want to but with kids, jobs, and all of the other things on our calendar we just can't seem to find the time.  It was a fun night and I look forward to doing it again really soon.

Y and Z

This past Wednesday was our last day of preschool.  It has been a great year of teaching, learning, growing in both knowledge and friendships, and it's been a year of fun.  The final day of preschool was at our house which seemed fitting since the first day of preschool was at our house.  It was just Ian and Aurelia in attendance.  We did letter Yy, Zz, reviewed our numbers, and did some fun crafting.  I can't believe how different both of these kiddos are now compared to when we just started. They are so much more independent and confident in their work.  They are eager to learn and ready to do their work. They can transition from one activity to the next with ease and are so helpful with cleaning up their messes and work areas.  They have become each others best buddies and encouragers.  They have grown so much and I look forward to seeing them continue to grow into the amazing people God intends them to be.  We will be planning a preschool graduation and potluck luncheon soon.  It will be nice to end the year with a celebration with all of the kids and their families.  Even though we are done with preschool I know that we will continue to have play dates with our preschool friends over the summer and into the next year.  I think the mommies will get together quite often too. I am so thankful for this year and the other ladies who committed to this preschool program.  I love being a stay at home mom and everything I do must help me be a better mommy and wife.  Being able to use my experience as a teacher to teach Ian and his friends has been such a blessing.  I know that he will be off to school full time much sooner than I want so to be able to give him this time and attention was the best thing I could ever do.
