Working on the School Album

I had about an hour and a half of uninterrupted time this afternoon to work on Ian's school album.  Here is the cover and some of the pages I was able to do today.  I'm far from done but I have time to work on it.  I'm going to get some photos developed this weekend so I can add them to the album. My goal is to do 2 weeks of photos at a time.  Wish me luck.  With the holidays and recital approaching I may find myself doing a lot of the work after the first of the year.  I will keep you posted as pages get done.

Mini Album workshop

I have a friend who is organizing a Women's Retreat for the ladies of her church in a couple of weeks. She called me a few weeks ago and asked if I would be interested in doing a little mini album workshop for the ladies during their free time. I was thrilled and excited and said yes of course.  So she came by yesterday and we picked out papers for the mini albums, cut, hole punched and assembled as many as we could before we ran out of chipboard covers (don't worry I have more coming in the mail).  Anyway, I will be busy the next few days finishing the albums and going through all of my scrap supplies to find lots of embellishments, ribbons, stamps, and anything else these ladies might need to complete their albums.  I can't wait to see what everyone creates and I think I might need to make a couple of samples to take as inspiration or a jumping off point for them.  Here are some photos of what we completed and what I still need to finish.

C is for Cat and Cupcake

Today  Ian had his third week of preschool.  It is going well so far and I am amazed at how much he is learning.  Today they focused on the letter Cc.  Here are the fun crafts they did.

Sleepovers

Isabella had a friend sleep over on Saturday and they had the best time.  They made homemade pizzas with Mr.G, had ice cream sundaes for dessert, played Barbies, had a fashion show, danced, and giggled well into the night.  They were even nice enough to let Ian in on some of their activities.  I think I see lots more sleepovers in our future.

School Mini Album

I got these scrapbook supplies in the mail last week and I am really excited about using them.  I wanted to make a mini album for Ian this year since we are doing preschool with some of his church friends and this is his first "school" experience. I am going to fill it with photos of crafts/work he does this year, field trips we take together as a group, and anything else preschool related.  I feel really bad since I never really made a scrapbook of Isabella's school experiences so I will be working on a special one for her this year too.  I will share more on that later.  Anyway, I love the October Afternoon line of school themed supplies and can't wait to use them.  I'm actually hoping to get the paper cut and the bare bones of the album assembled today during Ian's nap.  Wish me luck.  Nap times are becoming scarce around here but this haute momma needs her quiet time to get things done.

Cubbies

Ian is 3. Actually he is 3 years and 7 months but who's counting.  The fact that he is 3 is a big deal  around here because he is now old enough to start Cubbies.  I loved when Isabella was old enough to join Cubbies. She had the same little blue vest, blue bag, and big Cubbies book that we would work on during the week.  We practiced verses and she earned lots of patches that I would hand sew on her little blue vest.  Ian earned his vest and book last Wednesday.  I was there when his teacher called his name and put his vest on him. He was smiling from ear to ear and was so proud of himself.  He couldn't wait to get home to look through his book.  I hope he is still excited when he actually has to sit down and do the work and learn the verses.  It will be a great year for him and I am certain that he will learn a lot and make lots of friends.

Look at me!! I'm a Cubbie!!

Muffin Tin Monday supplies

I had to run some errands this week so I made a quick trip to one of my favorite stores. I wasn't looking for anything special so I was happy to find these silicone cupcake sets. My first thought was to use them for Muffin Tin Mondays next month. I can't wait to use them and I think Ian will love them. I might even use them for actual cupcake baking. I'll keep you posted.

Picnics

Thursday after Bible study I decided to do something fun for lunch with Ian. Mr.G had been in Texas all week and I was trying to keep things from getting to stressful around here so I thought I could add a little fun to our day. I put a sheet on the living room floor and we had a picnic. He had the best time and was so happy to eat in the living room. I think we need to do a whole family picnic in the living room once a month.
Here is my little fellow all ready for our picnic
