I was like a lot of women in blog land who made the trip to Target Tuesday to track down some lovely Missoni for Target goodies. I was so happy to see lots of beautiful Missoni stuff still on the shelves and racks. Here is just a glimpse of what I got (will share more of my swag later). I bought 2 of these gorgeous mugs. Nothing makes me happier than a gorgeous coffee mug filled with steamy hot java. What a lovely way to start my day? What awesome Missoni for Target swag did you pick up?

One of those Days
Today was one of those days. You know the kind I'm talking about. You have a list a mile long of errands you need to run and you want to get them done as fast as you can. Only you can't really because all the stores you need to go to are about 15 miles away from each other which means you and your little fellow spend way too much time in the car driving all over town. Then you spend all of 10 minutes in the store getting whatever was on your list. Then it's back in the car for more driving. Yeah, today was one of those days. We left the house at 8:30am and arrived back home after 2:30. I hate these kinds of days. Especially when we leave one store and Ian asks "Can we go home now?" and the answer is "No, we have 4 more stores to go to." He was a trooper. Maybe it had something to do with the 2 lollipops and gum I gave him while we were shopping. Hey, it kept him happy and I was able to do everything I needed. You know you do that too.
my venti skinny vanilla latte, I needed a pick me up towards the end of the day, I was fading fast

Girls Weekend
This past weekend I was able to get out of town with some of my very best girlfriends. We planned this trip earlier in the summer and I was counting down the days until we were on the road to our beach weekend. We planned on resting, relaxing, and having some crazy fun. These ladies are very dear to me. I have known each of them for many years and been there for each other through just about everything. When we get together we laugh, get silly, pig out on junk food, and have the best times ever. I was happy to have this time with them. We were already planning our next trip even before this one was over.

Some thrifty finds
I have been crazy busy over here. The last 2 weeks of July were a blur with everything that we had going on. There was Vacation Bible School, Isabella's birthday party, Mr. G going to Texas for the third time this summer, and all of our regular everyday stuff. So when I had a chance to get out of the house all alone to run errands I decided to do some thrifting. I have always loved second hand stores. I would even say that 98% of my clothing in college came from second hand and vintage stores. On this particular trip I was so happy to find these treasures. A blue mason jar (seriously in LOVE with blue mason jars), 3 more mason jars ( I want to turn the one with a lid into a soap dispenser), a tray (I am going to paint it and make a magnetic board out of it), and some milk glass ( I will use these to hold jewelry and scrapbook supplies). I am so happy with my thrifty treasures! I love a successful shopping trip.

School shopping
We did some school shopping yesterday. We got some uniform skirts and shorts, shoes, school supplies and the all important messenger bag. We searched far and wide for the perfect bag. It was not an easy job let me tell you. I was about to give up until at our last stop we saw it. It was bright and shiny and calling out to Isabella. Yay!! I have one happy third grader. We will tackle to rest of our school shopping later this week. I'm hoping to get it all done this week. Are you all done school shopping? What perfect item are you on the hunt for?

Thrifty finds
I was able to do some shopping at a few thrift stores today. These lovely treasures got to come home with me. I love vintage luggage so I was over the moon to find this cute suitcase. I think I'm going to use it for scrapbook supplies. Then there is that oh so lovely vintage scale. Yes I know. You hate me for finding something so awesome. Sorry I can't help it. I'm good at finding awesome things. Anyway it will make it's home in my kitchen. I can't wait to find the perfect spot for it. Have you found any thrifty treasures lately?

Girls Day Out
Yesterday Isabella and I had some girl time. We hit the mall looking for a dress for her to wear on Saturday when we celebrate Easter with my parents, my brother and my niece. We hit the Starbucks for some snacks before we hit the stores. We did most of our shopping at Old Navy. She picked out some dresses to try on and we went into the dressing room and started the fashion show. Isabella doesn't just try a dress on to see if it fits. She spins and twirls and checks to make sure it's just the right length. She has definite opinions about what she likes and doesn't hide her feelings when what mom has picked is all wrong. She picked a really cute summer dress and then decided that shoes and accessories were needed to complete the outfit. I fear the day when we have to go shopping for school clothes (she wears uniforms now and will until 8th grade). I might just have to get a job so I can afford this girlie girls taste. We had a nice day out and I look forward to doing it again soon.

To shop or not to shop? That is the question
It's Black Friday. Need I say more. Which means that a crazy amount of people left the comfort of their warm cozy homes Thursday night to sit in lines until the store of their choice opened its doors to the masses. Now don't get me wrong. I love to shop and I'm always on the lookout for a good bargain. But when it comes to camping outside of a store in freezing cold temperatures, well that's where I draw the line. I have experienced Black Friday shopping in the past and will admit to getting some good deals. But I am not a morning person and since I've had my 2 children I covet any extra sleep I can get. So when Black Friday rolls around I turn my alarm clock off, sleep in, drink lots of yummy coffee, watch some TV, and spend time on the computer. All the while in my pj's and from the comfort of this haute houswifes cozy home. For those of you who brave the crowds and cold on this Black Friday I raise my steamy mug to you, may you get all of the gifts on your lists and get a nice long nap in today.
