Having a picnic

Today's Advent activity was to have an indoor picnic.  This was a hit! Oh and The Nightmare Before Christmas was on TV so we watched it while we ate so that was an extra treat.  We topped off our picnic dinner with some cookies and milk for dessert.  I am really enjoying all of the Advent activities so far.  I wonder what we will be doing tomorrow?

Dinner by Candlelight

Last nights Advent activity was to eat dinner by candlelight.  It was fun to gather all of the candles and candle holders from around the house and put them on the dinner table.  The kids enjoyed themselves and then had fun blowing all the candles out at the end of the meal.

Time for some Advent activities

Today we started our Advent activities.  I usually start our Advent calendar activities on the first Sunday after our dance recital.  It's just too busy the week before dance recital to think about doing anything extra around here. So today after dinner I pulled out the first card and we got to have hot chocolate with all the fixings.  The kids took baths after dinner then we made our hot chocolate and settled down in the living room for a movie.  It was a great way to end the day and end the busy weekend we had.
