Pre Halloween Food Fun

So I decided that since today was the day before Halloween and both kids would be home all day I was going to do some fun Halloween food. For breakfast I busted out my pumpkin and spider cupcake cups and made chocolate chip muffins.  The kids love chocolate chip muffins so these were a hit.

For lunch I got out my pumpkin cookie cutters and cut their lunch meat and cheese into cute little pumpkins.  Isabella wanted tomato soup and Ian wanted green mac n cheese so I served them in some crescent moon silicone muffin cups.  I found the moon cups at a Dollar Tree store last year and this was the first time I used them.  They each had a fruit cup (I try to get some fruits and veggies in at lunch and these fruit cups are a favorite).  I also added couple of candy pumpkins.  They loved their Halloween themed lunch and I was happy I took the extra time to make it fun for them.

What fun activities are you doing this Halloween?

Pumpkin Patch Play Date

Today we had a play date with our preschool friends at a  local pumpkin patch (wow, try saying that 10 times fast).  The kids wore their Halloween Costumes and OMG! They looked adorable.  They did some crafts, played some games, ran around, picked a pumpkin, and had tons of fun. This is the second year we've had a pumpkin patch play date and I am so glad my friend Angela has been the one to organize and plan it.  I'm sure we will do it again next year and the next.  All of our preschool friends weren't able to make it today and we really missed them.  Hopefully we can plan another fun field trip during the holidays so everyone can make it.   After 2 hours of pumpkin patch fun we headed over to Angela's house for lunch. Then after a little more playing and it was time to go home to recuperate from such a busy morning.  I loved looking at all of today's photos and I can't wait to see everyone else's.  So here are a few photos I took today, okay here are A LOT of photos I took today. Enjoy!!

Posing for pictures.

Time to go on a scavenger hunt.

Sitting and waiting for the puppet show.

Craft time! Let's plant some pumpkins seeds.

Everyone with their pumpkins seeds.  I hope we remember to plant them in the ground in a couple of weeks.

More crafts!! Tissue paper pumpkins

  Time for some games.

Where's Ian? Oh wait, there he is!!

He picked his pumpkin and now it's time to go have lunch.

Halloween Treats

Ian is going on a field trip with his preschool friends tomorrow so I wanted to make a yummy treat for them.  I found this recipe on Pinterest and followed the link here.  It was so easy to make and those are the kind of recipes I like.  I hope all of his friends like it!!  I will be posting photos of their pumpkin patch field trip tomorrow.

All of the ingredients to make Scarecrow Crunch.

Everything all mixed together.  It looks yummy!

Another quick look at the Scarecrow Crunch in one of my favorite vintage Pyrex bowls.

All packaged and ready to give to our friends tomorrow.

The goodie bags are all ready for tomorrow.  I added a couple of extra fun Halloween treats for the kids.

Halloween Mini Album

I am trying to get a head start on all of my mini albums for the fall and winter holidays.  If I can get them all done now then all I need to do later is add photos.  I already started my December Daily album and I am working on a Fall album.  All I had left to do was a Halloween album.  So earlier this week I carved out some time between Ian's nap and Isabella getting home from school to make a Halloween album. I already had all of the Halloween paper, embellishments, and the chipboard album in my scrapbook supply stash so that made this project that much easier to accomplish.  I think it came out super cute and I can't wait to add photos of the kids in their costumes.  Are you trying to get a jump start on your holiday crafts this year too?
